Our Viking Adventure begins

We are headed out on a great Viking adventure. After the 1st Uber canceled and the 2nd came with the trunk already full, a dear friend rescued us to get us to the airport! But all is well and we are on our way.  It was fun to watch our destination come closer as we followed our travel on the video screen in the seat. 

  

 Flying overnight, our Icelandic flight landed at 6:30 AM local time, and without much sleep, we made it through passport control, finally collected our luggage and headed out to explore Iceland. Our first stop was to collect a rental car which included a wireless hot spot and then on to a local bakery for some amazing pastries for breakfast.  We were delighted to see the "End of the Rainbow" sculpture at the airport which seemed a very appropriate welcome for our visit. And it is true, dandelions grow everywhere in the world, even near the arctic circle.
